Suited for moderately fit adventurers, the journey ascends through diverse forests and alpine meadows, revealing panoramic mountain vistas from the 14,050-foot Hamta Pass.
Settle into our base camp in Naggar. Acclimatize with a morning trek to Naggar's heritage sites: castle, art gallery, and temples. The afternoon is dedicated to trek orientation and preparation, culminating in an evening bonfire and adventure movie.
Embark on a journey through scenic apple orchards and diverse forests (pine, cedar, oak, fir, chestnut) to Jobri Nala. Ascend to Uchung Bihadi, passing villages with local legends of a "gateway to heaven" near Inderkilla peak. Trek through alpine meadows and forests of Spruce, Chestnut and Birch. Overnight camp at Uchung Bihadi/Chikka.
Traverse spectacular landscapes towards Hamta Pass, camping on a grassy bank near a mountain stream. The impressive Tokru-Shakru peaks and vibrant rock formations make this a memorable campsite. The trail ascends toward Hamta Pass, reaching Bhalu Ka Ghera (Bear's Den), with a chance for rare Himalayan brown bear sightings. Overnight camp.
Ascend to Hampta Jot (Pass) for panoramic views of Deo Tibba, Indrasan, and Lahaul's rugged peaks. Descend and cross a stream to Shelaa Ghoru, known for its cold nights. Overnight camp.
Enjoy a leisurely descent to Chaatru in the Chandra Valley, carefully crossing a stream. Camp overnight at Chaatru, a small settlement on the Chandra River, frequented by Manali-Spiti travelers.
Drive through the Chandra Valley, joining the Manali-Leh Highway near Gramphu. Ascend to Rohtang Pass, then descend to Manali and Naggar, witnessing diverse alpine landscapes. Overnight camp.
