The trek, starting in Spiti after essential acclimatization, leads to Karzok village, home to nomadic Changpas and the world’s highest inhabited settlement at 4650 meters. This journey blends stunning Himalayan landscapes with unique cultural encounters, offering breathtaking views of Himachal and Ladakh’s highest peaks.
Forenoon: Arrive in Manali, check into hotel.
Afternoon: Acclimatization and trek preparation.
Drive to Kaza via Atul Rohtang Tunnel, Lahaul Valley (Chandra Bhaga ranges, Bara Shigri Glacier), and Kunzum La (4700m).
Acclimatization day in Kaza.
Drive to Kibber, visiting Kye Monastery en route. Camp at Kibber or Chicham.
Trek through gorge to Dumla (last village). Views of Parang La and surrounding peaks. Ancient Spiti-Tibet trade route.
Descend through Panlugui Gorge. Views of Panlugui summit. Wildlife sightings possible (bharal, marmot, ibex). Ascend to Parang La base.
Ascend to Parang La for panoramic Himalayan views. Descend to Largyup (Parachu River origin). Camp.
Easy, level trek with stream crossings.
Trek alongside Parachu River. Beautiful campsite.
Trek along Parachu River, crossing it at the end. Camp with scenic views.
Trek through Parachu Valley, entering Chang Thang Valley. Observe Changpa nomads and their lifestyle. Overnight at Tso Moriri.
Drive to Leh. Overnight in a hotel.
